The Legacy of Ada: A Mountain
Woman,
a 280-page hard-
cover, is a true story that has
never been told.  The setting
is the beautiful backcountry
region of the foothills of
southwest Virginia along the
North Carolina border.  The
year was 1907.

As a young mother with three
very young children, Ada
found herself in a situation
no one would ever want to
face.

She grew up in a large family
that was beholding to the
moonshine business for
survival.  At the height of the
moonshining business, a
young Dunkard Preacher,
Joseph Easter, was shot and
killed in the front yard of his
home.  Ada’s husband,
George Peters, was charged
with the May 1907 crime and
hung in the courtyard of the
jail in Hillsville, Virginia in
October of that same year.

This book takes you on a
journey through the
circumstances surrounding
the event, and eventually
into the courtroom.  The trial
is presented in its entirety.
This is a powerful story, one
that will hold your interest to
the very end.
